SKILLS Research  As an intern at the Central Bank of Barbados, I undertook a supervised research paper entitled “The Effectiveness of Government Expenditure on Education and Health Care in The Caribbean” which was subsequently published by an international publisher called Emerald Journals.  While pursuing my undergraduate degree in Economics, I took several research courses such as Statistical Methods and Econometrics and most of my individual assignments required in-depth research and analysis. Similarly, my postgraduate degree consisted of Research Methods and other research intensive courses. Communication  While interning at the Central Bank of Barbados, I presented my research paper at the Annual Economic Seminar which required the ability to communicate complex ideas articulately and effectively and sensibly and reasonably respond to questions.  As a postgraduate Marketing student specialising in advertising and communications, I have presented several PowerPoint marketing plans and strategies to International marketing executives, which have gained A grades thus illustrating good written and oral skills. Planning/Organising  As a member of the Young Economists Association and Youth Advocacy Movement, I was involved in planning and organisation of many charitable events such as car washes and bake sales to raise funds for the needy.  While at University I was the Project Manager for several of my team assignments which included managing my team of students , organising and prioritising tasks. I also had to display initiative and efficiently manage the work habits of my team and I as well as the project details.  As Financial controller of my postgraduate team consultancy project I was responsible for financial reporting to the client and budgeting and forecasting all expenses for the implementation and execution of the social media communication strategy.  My degree projects and internship required working to meet tight deadlines, researching in local and international archives while generating and managing research databases. Teamwork  Worked as part of a team on a numerous University assignments, sometimes under great pressure. Here flexibility and initiative were essential.  The Managing the Corporate Brand module of my MSc Marketing programme involved a group project where I worked with three other students investigating a company’s brand values from the consumer perspective and recommendations on how to build and manage the corporate brand . I was responsible for co-ordinating interviews and qualitative analysis of interview transcripts as well as identifying the gap between consumer and company perspective. Our project was awarded the highest grade of any in that year. Computing  Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.  Designed, implemented and administrated a private Facebook group to support and facilitate the Nottingham Community Housing Association communication strategy.
