Private tutor in Nottingham, United Kingdom
Education
October 2012 - January 2017 I have obtained a PhD in Physics. This involved using X-ray based techniques to analyse molecules and nanostructures on surfaces. The primary goal was to investigate charge transfer between these nanostructures and various surfaces. Charge transfer is very important for solar cells and organic LEDs and this research leads to fundamental understanding of the physics behind these technologies. Part of this work involved attending MAX-Lab IV in Lund, Sweden and Soleil in Paris that involved using a synchrotron, which is an X-ray producing particle accelerator. I hope that this research will lead to development of new technologies for light, flexible displays and low cost solar power generation. September 2011 - September 2012 MSc Nanoscience, University of Nottingham, graded Distinction, with 79.3% average; achieving the highest grade in the seven year history of the course. September 2007 - July 2008 PGCE science at University of Nottingham, specialising in Physics. September 1999 - June 2005 University of Leeds, originally attended maths course then switched to physics, admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Science with Class II Division i in Physics with the 2nd highest mark in the year.
Experience
I am a full time professional online physics, chemistry and maths tutor and an excellent science communicator. I have the ability, understanding and resources to get the best out of students for their GCSEs, A levels and undergraduate degrees. I am a fully qualified, DBS checked, physics teacher with ten years teaching and tuition experience across all ages and abilities. Working as an examiner has given me a detailed understanding of the major exam boards in the UK and I extend this insight to my students, giving them not only the required knowledge for their exams but also the very best exam technique. I have just been awarded a Ph.D. in Physics, this involved producing cutting edge research for future solar technology, this work helps me to inspire my students. I am passionate about my subject and I really enjoy my job as a tutor. So if you, or someone you know, wants to learn physics and get higher grades please get in touch.
